Applications close 26 March 2017The triennial arts grants program provides three-yearly funding for arts organisations and festivals which enhance Melbourne’s cultural identity and reflect Melbourne’s goals and priorities. They are proud to support major and emerging arts organisations that make Melbourne a creative city.
The program supports a diverse mix of arts and cultural organisations, art forms, and contemporary and heritage practices.
The purpose of the program’s funding is to:
- support innovation and experimentation in content, practice and engagement
- enhance the Melbourne brand with a focus on excellence
- support participation in and access to the arts and creative expression, including specific target groups such as children and families
- increase city activation through delivering programming that increases city activity and attracts people into the city throughout the week day and night.

Applications close 27 February 2017Under the guidance of four experienced dance writers, participants have the chance to create, shape and share conversations about dance and hone their critical writing skills for a number of different formats. It’s a fast-track way to gain experience and technique in responsible, effective, attractive dance criticism as well as to explore and understand the opportunities that digital publishing has to offer. In 2017, Springback Academy will offer aspiring dance writers the chance to be mentored in the fundamentals of quality dance criticism in the action-packed environment of Spring Forward, Aerowaves’ buzzing annual festival that will take place this year in Aarhus, Denmark from 28-30 April 2017.
If selected for the project, Aerowaves will provide mentorship, accommodation and hospitality. Participants will be required to organise and fund their own return travel to
