Family History with the Good Room

INVITATION

The Foundling Archive is happy to announce the launch of our Writers & Documenters Group.

LAUNCHING:

Saturday 3rd June

10.30am until 3.30pm

The Good Room, Brunwick East

Join us for a day of workshopping, beginning with the return of local historians Lee Hooper and Pheobe Wilkens from Born & Bred Historical Consulting in Brunswick followed by some lunch and introduction to the group.

Do you need help scanning and organising your important documents, family photos and other precious objects? Have you been writing your family history, local history or memoir but can’t seem to be motivated doing it alone? Are you interested in starting your project but don’t know where to start?

In 2017, The Foundling Archive is launching a community history group with a twist!

Meet people with a similar interest in family history & writing for personal fulfillment, browse through our inspiration library of memoirs and family projects while the team at the Foundling Archive is on hand to help you scan and archive, edit and write. We’ll share interviewing tips, discuss your project and provide feedback. Equipment loans will be available to members. Bring a box or two of your personal archive for scanning and conservation, your laptop (we have two computers that can be used if you don’t have access to one), or journal and let’s start together!

Workshopping Days:

1st and 3rd Thursday of every month 12pm-4pm

1st and 3rd Saturday of every month 11-2pm
