Dale Frank at Neon Parc

June 30 – August 12

Opening Friday 30 June 6.00pm

Neon Parc is delighted to announce the opening of new work by one of Australia’s most critically acclaimed and widely respected contemporary artists, Dale Frank.

Dale will present a suite of large scale experimental paintings which test the boundaries of visual perception and physical sensation. The viewer is arrested by the effortless sophistication in which Frank utilises emotive materials such as blood, liquid glass, rubber masks, human hair and glitter, affirming his singular voice in contemporary art.

Dale Frank has shown extensively in Australia, Europe, and the U.S.A. Recent solo exhibitions include Pearl Lam Galleries, Hong Kong; Roslyn Oxley9, Sydney, both 2017; Merril Lynch Bank of America, Art Los Angeles Contemporary, both 2016; Art Cologne, Neon Parc, Melbourne, both 2015. Group exhibitions include Red Green Blue: A History of Australian Video Art, Today Tomorrow Yesterday, Shut Up And Paint, Victoria, 2016, Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Dark Heart, curated by Nick Mitzevich, Art Gallery of South Australia, 2014; Personal Structures, Palazzo Bembo, 55th Venice Biennale, Venice, 2013; the 1982, 1990, and 2010 Sydney Biennales, Sydney; Contemporary Australia: Optimism, Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane, 2008; and Ecstasy – 20 Years of Painting, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, 2000.
