BLINDSIDE is now accepting proposals for our 2018 Exhibition Program, alongside applications for two brand new initiatives: 2017 Cowwarr Arts Residency and 2017 Emerging Curator Mentorship. Read below to find out more and get applying!

2018 BLINDSIDE Exhibition Program

NOW OPEN | DUE MIDNIGHT MONDAY 15 MAY 2017

BLINDSIDE invites proposals for the 2018 Exhibition Program from emerging, mid-career and established artists, curators, collectives or collaborators to present solo or group exhibitions, as well as events, performances, screenings and ephemeral projects.

BLINDSIDE accepts proposals from local, interstate and international practitioners from any field of creative endeavour that span either one or both gallery spaces. BLINDSIDE is an inclusive space that supports a thriving arts community of emerging and established artists, writers and curators of any background, age and culture.

2017 BLINDSIDE Emerging Curator Mentorship

NOW OPEN | DUE MIDNIGHT MONDAY 3 APRIL 2017

BLINDSIDE is excited to announce the BLINDSIDE Emerging Curator Mentorship supported by Creative Victoria and the City of Melbourne, and mentored by curator Emily Cormack.

BLINDSIDE invites emerging curators to submit a proposal for a mentorship to develop an exhibition across both gallery spaces in December 2017. The exhibition will be supported with funding of $3000. The successful applicant will receive 6 months of mentorship that is focused on curatorial research and exhibition development.

As this is a mentorship, BLINDSIDE does not expect fully resolved proposals, but is seeking proposals that explore bold and exciting ideas that can be further developed over the mentorship period.

2017 BLINDSIDE Regional Arts Residency

NOW OPEN | Due midnight Monday 3 April 2017

BLINDSIDE is proud to be partnering with Cowwarr Art Space to present the BLINDSIDE Regional Arts Residency supported by Creative Victoria. Cowwarr Art Space is a unique regional contemporary arts venue, which has been operating since 1993 and is situated on the outskirts of Cowwarr, a small rural community in Victoria, Australia.

BLINDSIDE invites proposals for the 2017 Regional Arts Residency from emerging, mid-career and established artists practicing in any medium. The successful applicant will be awarded a four-week residency at Cowwarr Art Space as well as a $200 stipend. At the end of the residency the successful applicant will have the opportunity to present a studio exhibition at Cowwarr Art Space, however fully resolved work is not a requirement.
